Dear Pitner Patriots,

Pitner’s PTSA Co Presidents would like to extend a HUGE Welcome to our new Principal, Dr. Hosey , new teachers, and new Pitner families! We would also like to extend a warm welcome back to our returning students and families as well! To all of you, we look forward to making 2016-2017 a fun and productive year.

To the Administration and Staff, Committee Chair Leaders and all of our volunteers, we look forward to working with all of you this school year, some for the first time. I know we will have a great year because of the dedicated and amazing volunteers we have in the PTSA.

The purpose of the PTSA is to first and foremost support our students. In addition, it supports the faculty, staff, parents, and the local community through volunteering.

An effective and successful PTSA requires support and involvement of the parents of our students. It is vital. Your first opportunity to show support is to become a member of the PTA. We encourage each of you to show your commitment by joining.

The second way to show your support will be to participate in the numerous exciting events and programs that we have planned throughout the year. You may choose to be a committee chair, or volunteer. Whatever level of participation you choose, your time and involvement will be greatly appreciated. Many parents feel that they cannot participate in the PTSA because they cannot attend meetings or be at school during the day. Whether you have 30 minutes or a couple of hours in or outside of school hours, your ideas, your time, and your talents are truly needed. There are endless possibilities in ways you can help. Please consider volunteering, it really does make a difference in the lives of all our children!

Programs such as Music, Art, PE, the school clinic and the Stem Lab, HotSpot, Student Literacy Programs (reading programs), and Technology are not funded within the state budget. Only through our school fundraising has Pitner PTSA been able to supplement those programs cut out by the state government.

None of this is possible without parent support. Any amount of time you can contribute to our students and school will be to your children’s direct benefit and is greatly appreciated. I invite you to stay informed of our upcoming events as well as the goings-on of our school by creating an account on our pitnerptsa.com website, by checking the PTSA calendar on this site, and attending our PTSA General meetings.

Please contact us anytime about PTSA events and activities. We are here to assist you in any way that we can.  We look forward to meeting and working with each of you!
